Shipping and Delivery Policy
Shipping & Delivery Policy
1. Introduction and Scope
This Shipping & Delivery Policy ('Policy') sets forth the terms and conditions governing the shipment, dispatch, and delivery of products supplied by Capital Bolts & Hardwares ('CBH', 'we', 'our', or 'us') through its website [https://cbh.store], digital platforms, and authorized dealer channels.
This Policy applies to:
-
Domestic customers across India, including industrial buyers, contractors, and channel partners; and
-
International customers, including importers, distributors, and project-based procurement teams.
CBH is committed to delivering fasteners and industrial hardware in a timely, secure, and transparent manner. This Policy outlines our standard shipping practices, responsibilities of both parties, applicable timelines, and key obligations related to freight, delivery, and acceptance.
2. Shipping Methods and Service Coverage
2.1 Domestic Shipping (Within India)
CBH provides delivery services across all major cities and industrial regions in India through:
-
Internal dispatch and logistics teams;
-
Reputed third-party logistics providers (surface and express cargo);
-
Transport partners arranged by authorized dealers (in applicable cases).
Delivery timelines vary based on product type, order volume, and destination zone but generally range between 3 to 10 business days from dispatch.
2.2 International Shipping (Exports)
CBH ships fasteners to over 50 countries via:
-
Sea freight (FCL/LCL shipments)
-
Air freight (for urgent or smaller consignments)
-
Courier services (where applicable)
Shipping is subject to Incoterms agreed at the time of sale, including but not limited to:
-
EXW (Ex-Works): Buyer bears all costs and risks from pickup.
-
FOB (Free on Board): CBH delivers to port of shipment and clears goods for export.
-
CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight): CBH arranges freight and insurance up to the destination port.
International delivery timelines range from 7 to 45 business days depending on the mode, volume, and destination country.
2.3 Pickup Facility
For approved dealers or institutional buyers, CBH may allow self-arranged pickup from its designated warehouse facility. In such cases:
-
The buyer shall schedule pickup in advance;
-
Loading assistance will be provided, but liability transfers upon vehicle handover.
3. Order Processing, Dispatch, and Tracking
3.1 Order Processing Time
-
Orders are generally processed within 2 to 5 business days after receipt of full payment (or purchase order approval, in case of credit accounts).
-
For custom-fabricated, galvanized, or OEM-specific items, processing time may extend based on production cycles, raw material availability, or finishing requirements.
-
CBH will notify customers of any unforeseen delays in order readiness.
3.2 Dispatch Confirmation
Once an order is processed and packed, CBH will issue a formal dispatch confirmation via email or system notification, including:
-
Invoice and packing list
-
Shipment reference number
-
Transport details (carrier name, contact, and estimated delivery)
Dispatch shall be deemed complete once goods leave CBH's facility or are handed over to the designated logistics partner.
3.3 Order Tracking
-
For shipments sent via courier or express freight services, tracking numbers will be provided for real-time monitoring.
-
For bulk dispatches or container loads, CBH may share the LR (Lorry Receipt), AWB (Air Waybill), or BL (Bill of Lading) via email or ERP-integrated dashboard.
-
International buyers will also receive export documents (e.g., Certificate of Origin, HS codes, commercial invoice) for customs clearance.
Customers are encouraged to follow up with the assigned logistics partner using the shared tracking references for delivery status updates.
4. Shipping Charges, Taxes, and Duties
4.1 Domestic Shipping Charges
-
Shipping charges for deliveries within India are calculated based on order volume, weight, destination, and service level (standard or express).
-
For orders placed via CBH.Store or dealer portals, applicable freight costs will be displayed during checkout or invoiced separately.
-
For dealer accounts with free freight agreements, shipping costs may be waived as per the terms of the dealer contract.
4.2 International Freight and Logistics Costs
-
Freight charges for export orders shall be borne by the buyer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing or specified under the Incoterm used (e.g., CIF).
-
Freight estimates provided at the time of quotation are indicative only and may vary at the time of actual dispatch due to rate fluctuations or container availability.
4.3 Packaging and Handling Fees
-
CBH reserves the right to levy packaging and handling charges for special or bulk shipments requiring:
-
Wooden pallets/crates
-
Heavy-duty packing for marine transit
-
Rust-proofing, shrink wrapping, or labeling
-
These charges will be transparently itemized in the quotation or final invoice.
4.4 Taxes and Import Duties
-
Domestic Orders: Prices are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), which shall be charged as applicable.
-
International Orders: Customs duties, VAT, import levies, clearance charges, or brokerage fees imposed by the destination country shall be the sole responsibility of the buyer.
CBH shall not be liable for delays or returns arising from unpaid duties or customs non-compliance at the buyer's end.
5. Delivery Timelines, Delays, and Risk Transfer
5.1 Estimated Delivery Timelines
-
Domestic Deliveries: Estimated delivery time ranges from 3 to 10 business days from the date of dispatch, depending on destination zone and service level.
-
International Deliveries: Estimated delivery time may range from 7 to 45 business days, depending on mode of shipment (air or sea), shipping terms (FOB/CIF/DDP), and destination country.
All timelines are indicative and non-binding unless otherwise agreed in a formal supply agreement.
5.2 Force Majeure and Delays
CBH shall not be held liable for delivery delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
-
Port congestion or vessel unavailability
-
Customs clearance delays or document hold-ups
-
Strikes, lockdowns, war, or natural disasters
-
Shortage of transport vehicles or driver availability
In such cases, CBH will make reasonable efforts to communicate the revised timeline and coordinate with the buyer for alternate arrangements where possible.
5.3 Transfer of Risk
-
Risk of loss, damage, or deterioration passes to the buyer upon:
-
Handover to the shipping carrier (for FOB/EXW shipments);
-
Delivery to buyer's premises (for DDP or prepaid freight shipments);
-
Completion of loading at CBH's facility (for self-pickup cases).
-
CBH recommends that buyers arrange adequate transit insurance for high-value or export consignments, particularly where the buyer is the importer of record.
6. Delivery Acceptance and Claims
6.1 Inspection Upon Delivery
-
The buyer is responsible for inspecting the shipment upon receipt.
-
Any visible damage, tampering, or short supply must be noted on the delivery challan or transport receipt at the time of delivery.
-
The buyer must notify CBH in writing of any such issue within 48 hours of receipt, along with supporting evidence (e.g., photographs, packing list, delivery documents).
6.2 Concealed Damage or Discrepancies
-
In cases of concealed damage (e.g., defects not apparent at the time of delivery), the buyer must report the issue to CBH within five (5) business days of delivery.
-
Claims submitted after this period may be rejected unless explicitly agreed upon in writing by CBH.
6.3 Procedure for Claims
All delivery-related claims must include:
-
Invoice number and dispatch reference
-
Product code(s), quantity received, and quantity short/missing
-
Nature of the damage or discrepancy
-
Clear photographic or video evidence
CBH will review the claim within five (5) business days of submission and may:
-
Approve a replacement or adjustment;
-
Offer a refund or credit (in line with CBH's Return & Refund Policy);
-
Reject the claim with explanation if it falls outside policy scope or lacks sufficient proof.
6.4 No Liability for Delay or Rejection by Buyer
-
If the buyer refuses to accept a shipment without justified cause, any additional storage, redelivery, or demurrage charges shall be borne by the buyer.
-
CBH shall not be responsible for business loss, penalties, or liquidated damages arising from delayed acceptance or internal processing by the buyer.
